GULLN Energy was founded by brothers Angel and Socrates Guillen, licensed electricians raised on Chicago’s West Side. Inspired by their father, a Honduran immigrant and IBEW Local 134 electrician, they built GULLN to meet the growing demand for reliable electrical and EV charging services.
Today, GULLN is a full-service licensed electrical contractor serving residential, commercial, multi-unit, municipal, and government clients throughout the Chicago area.
Beyond electrical work, GULLN partners with HACIA, HIRE360, and OAI to provide clean energy and EV education through workforce development programs, helping create career opportunities within the communities it serves.
As co-founders, Angel and Socrates were recently recognized as Emerging Contractors of the Year by the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA).
Meet the Owners & Co-Founders
Angel Guillen
President & Co-Founder
Angel brings more than 15 years of experience as a licensed electrician across the commercial, industrial, residential, and clean energy sectors. He previously worked with Tesla Energy installing solar and battery systems throughout the Chicago area before serving as Branch Operations Manager at ADT Solar, where he oversaw staffing and installation quality at scale.
Today, Angel leads GULLN’s field operations, overseeing every installation to ensure quality workmanship, code compliance, and the highest standards on every project.

Socrates Guillen
Business Developer & Co-Founder
Socrates spent 13 years at Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), advancing from Meter Reader to Lineman, Transmission Lineman, and ultimately Aerial Transmission Specialist. In that role, he inspected and repaired transmission lines throughout Illinois.
Today, Socrates leads GULLN’s business development, estimating, contracts, workforce planning, and client relationships.
